Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon for Netflix now has highly critically acclaimed actor Anthony Hopkins on board as part of the cast.
Rebel Moon creator Zack Snyder takes to twitter to confirm that two time Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins will be the voice of battle droid Jimmy.
On Day 2 of Netflix’s Geeked Week, Zack Snyder and Rebel Moon star Sofia Boutella dropped updates on the ongoing project. In the video, they described Rebel Moon as a giant space opera with visual effects, sci-fi fantasy with crazy action. Particularly, the project tells about a bunch of misfits that come together against all odds. Months in preparation for her role Kora, Boutella has been deep in her training and scene-preps. Now they have just started filming and she is truly excited.

Zack Snyder boasts:
It’s so far awesome! …we got some aliens and all sorts of craziness. I’m really proud of the team that I have working there doing and incredible job. So, for me it’s a dream come true.
The creator also reminds audiences to stay with them as they update and drop more information along the way. These will include some content and videos from on-set. In fact, one of the big reveal is that they now have Anthony Hopkins as the voice for Sentient JC1435, the battle robot named Jimmy.
Rebel Moon is Zack Snyder’s project as a Star Wars and Akira Kurosawa fan. Geeked Week introduced Rebel Moon as:
a story about a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical regent Balisarius. They dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand.

Writing with Snyder are Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad for the feature. General Electric and The Stone Quarry are the credited production companies for the movie to be solely distributed by Netflix. OPSIS handles the visual effects, the same company that covered for Michael Bay’s Ambulance, Michael B. Chait’s Wolf Hound and David F. Sandberg’s Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
Joining Hopkins and Boutella as cast are Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll. Also, Michiel Huisman, Alfonso Herrera, Ed Skrein, Cleopatra Coleman, Fra Fee, and Rhian Rees are part of the cast. Finally Jena Malone, E. Duffy, Charlotte Maggi, Sky Yang and Staz Nair as previously announced.
