Vin Diesel enjoyed making and watching the I Am Groot shorts Kristin Lepore wrote and directed further sharing Marvel wants Planet X movie. Diesel took to Instagram to share his appreciation for the project. Further, the actor said his niece thanks him for making I Am Groot. In the same post, he also included a comment of realization why Marvel apparently wants to make the Planet X movie.

Vin Diesel’s Groot has been one of the major fan favorites since the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. With only one line, the character captured the hearts of audiences around the world. From Guardians to Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, Groot now has his own series of shorts. I Am Groot lets audiences in on his world. Kids of all ages love the series. In fact, it just made people curious about the character. Groot is a Flora Colossi from Planet X. He has always favored to care for those other than his kind. In a momentous event while he was still a sapling at Planet X, he ends up getting on exile. Thus, he set out to travel the galaxies having no way to go back to his home planet.
Whether this will be a storyline for a Planet X movie that Marvel apparently wants is something that is not yet certain. What is evident is that Vin Diesel himself knows that there is an interest on Marvel Studios’ part to make the movie. It would be interesting to see either a back story or a ‘return home’ story for Groot featuring Planet X. Given the plans Kevin Feige laid out for the Multiverse Saga, it would be interesting where they would place the movie if ever. There is also the chance that they do it as a stand alone special. Also, they could be reserving Planet X for a project after the Multiverse Saga.
