Arising rumors say that the MCU is looking into Ultron’s return in a live-action movie or television series. Years after the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie, the only time we got to see the villainous android is in Marvel’s What If…? series. I am excluding the Illuminati androids in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness because, they aren’t actually Ultron. Because many fans felt that the Avengers movie could have presented Ultron more powerfully, there are those who are hoping he can come back. Even more when his animated version did display some of the weight and command they expected of the character. If that impact can be accomplished in the animated version, then Marvel could certainly do Ultron better.
Ultron Could Return To The MCU

Recently, ComicBookMovie reports from The Cosmic Circus’s article that Ultron may very well be on his way back to the MCU. Most likely, this is because the MCU has multiverse and variants in place. Unsurprisingly, we all know it. In fact, the MCU actors know it. Everybody knows that most of the characters before can come back even though they have actually died in previous movies or series. The caveat? Only, the ones who will reappear are not exactly the ones who have gone. They are versions of the ones who’ve gone.
The comics, Ultron was very formidable. Some fans felt the movie adaptation of the character lacked a factor of his impact in the story. His “Age” didn’t really last that long. Thus, it didn’t feel that much threatening. The animated series showcased how close to undefeatable he is. Fans expected something like that. The Cosmic Circus writes:
According to one of our sources, the Ultron A.I. was not destroyed in the wake of Avengers: Age of Ultron, and remnants of the Ultron A.I. are still active but ‘dormant’.
Ultron Could Return To The MCU

If this is true, then what are the possible projects that can utilize this in the near future? The MCU’s Phase 4 has ended. Phase 5 begins with Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. The possibility that the movie can lay a foundation for Ultron’s return is not likely. For one thing, Ant-Man’s technology is mostly Pym. Meanwhile, Ultron is Stark. Thus, the possible projects could be Armor Wars and Vision Quest. Although, we are also not ruling out Ironheart also because Stark. As well as Agatha: Coven of Chaos, simply because of her link to Vision as well.
Ultron coming back to the MCU is entirely plausible. Like what many think, anything is possible in the MCU now.
