Numbers are coming in and Cruise is in position to generate the budget to box office multiplier very soon for his Top Gun: Maverick. The movie has a production budget of $170M. In the opening weekend alone, it already has $124M at the Domestic Box Office. Currently, Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick sits third in the ranking of highest opening of 2022 movies. It’s no easy feat as this is still within pandemic parameters. Yet, this undoubtedly is Tom Cruise’s record holder for the biggest opening “kaching” in all his years in the industry.

Paramount is also happy, thank you very much. As Top Gun: Maverick is now its biggest opening movie for the year. The studio is enjoying a happy movie streak with Sonic the Hedgehog 2, The Lost City, Jackass Forever and Scream. Worldwide, Top Gun: Maverick is at $248M and it’s just started.

Check on the film’s rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it has Certified Fresh rating of 96% in the Tomatometer and a whopping 99% on Audience Score. Metacritic Score is 78 meta score with generally favorable reviews and 8.9 user score also with generally favorable reviews. People who have seen the movie go online to positively tell about it which only piques interest of a lot of audiences and even others even express the interest to re-watch in the theaters.

Decades of wait for the sequel was truly worth it. Some were even surprised there was a sequel in the making. There were comments that say it’s a sequel they didn’t know they wanted. Production updates and filming news further fueled the anticipation. Now, the movie is here and it seems to have truly delivered if not surpassed expectations.
