We all know that the upcoming Dr. Strange sequel will be featuring a lot of versions of a lot of characters.

Even Dr. Strange himself is with a variant.

If you have seen the first season of Disney+ What If..? you will know who we mean.

With Spider-man and Loki delving into time variants and the multiverse, this Dr. Strange sequel continues on with those lines of storytelling.

The internet is lush with a lot of articles hoping to see X-Men in this movie.

People are also talking about Tom Cruise being in the movie as a variant of Tony Stark aka Iron Man.

It is true however, that there was a time that Tom Cruise could have indeed been cast as the billionaire, playboy philanthropist.

We are all happy, Robert Downey, Jr. landed the role.

Naturally, we can’t imagine anyone else as Tony Stark.

Yet, this tease of time variance opens the possibility of exploring a lot of actual “What ifs?”

1998 was the year when Tom Cruise expressed interest in playing and even producing a movie starring him as Iron Man.

Things happen and ten years later, Robert Downey Jr. got the part that catapulted the MCU to what it is now.

So are the photos of Tom Cruise actually real or fake Dr. Strange sequel shots?

We asked several post photography experts and they say they are most likely fake.

There is also another set of photos supporting that the circulating photos are fake.

The image of Tom Cruise seems really out of place.

One of them is quite obvious, where one can actually see a cut outline.

The other was blurred to hide the manipulation.

But is Tom Cruise being in the Dr. Strange sequel actually real at all?

But is Tom Cruise being in the Dr. Strange sequel actually real or fake at all? I would like to think so.

If only to strengthen the concept of time variants and weakened multiverse reality, it would be fun to see variants of characters.

We have seen it done with Spidey anyway.

So that proves it can be done.

Tom Cruise as a variant of Tony Stark will not actually hurt in the grand design of the story.

However, what’s real about the Dr. Strange sequel still remains to be seen.

Whether Tom Cruise would indeed be there or not really just remains to be seen.

Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be in theatres May 2022.

In the meantime, we stand by until official details are either confirmed or we see it with our own eyes.

As Dr. Strange has already put it:

The Multiverse Is A Concept About Which We Know Frighteningly Little.
