Netflix’s The Witcher Season 3 currently stops shooting as lead star Henry Cavill, Geralt of Rivia, tests positive for CoVid. The actor could very well use some potions from Kaer Morhen so that production resumes at the soonest possible time. The unfortunate situation could very well affect the release date of the series.
According to cbr.com, the production is ready to film a crucial battle for Geralt. A fansite named Redanian Intelligence posted the early report that Netflix partially confirmed yesterday. Netflix’s statement:
(production) paused due to COVID and we will be up and running as soon as it is safe to do so.

Apparently, the production is approaching its final month of shoot. Whereas, this coming schedule of filming includes the epic Thanedd coup. Redanian Intelligence cited that everyone in the cast will be involved in the shoot for the scenes of the battle. Joining the White Wolf will be Yennefer and Ciri, his chosen family. This specific story is from the novel Andrzej Sapkowski wrote: Time of Contempt. Thanedd becomes the stage for the battle that fans awaited most anxiously.
Because the Thanedd coup is actually a battle of mages, fans have imagined it to be even grander than the Battle of Sodden in The Witcher Season 1.
On the bright side, Cavill is on the road to recovery. Even though The Hollywood Reporter posts that the BA.5 variant of COVID-19 is currently the most easily transmissible, it might not actually have huge significant effects to the production schedule.

Fans have hoped to see Cavill in the recently concluded SDCC. Rumors have surfaced that the actor would bring amazing news about reprising his Son of Krypton role in the Justice League. Superman has long been overdue for a sequel as any fan would comment. Some say, his return is still true and apparent and the only reason he isn’t at the Hall H with the Black Adam panel is because of his contracting the virus. Of course, these are mere speculations we still have to take with a grain of salt. But, as fans, we do hope he will don the red cape and leap tall buildings in a single bound again.
While The Witcher Season 3 is still in production, although currently stalled, there is no date of release that Netflix has officially announced. Anya Chalotra returns as Yennefer of Vengerberg and Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla of Cintra with Cavill and the rest of the cast.
