Netflix Original Series The Witcher Season 3 enters production and is on the hunt for the new episodes.
The streaming service releases a behind the scenes photo and the synopsis of the new season. This signals that production is on track, on schedule and well under way. The photo captures Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg and Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla of Cintra. The three are on standby in a snowy environment. This photograph, apparently, is on the first day of filming the season.

Official logline for Season 3 reads:
As monarchs, mages and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line — or risk losing each other forever.
Andrzej Sapkowski is the Polish author who created the world and wonders of The Witcher. The six fantasy novels and 15 short stories showcase the adventures of Geralt of Rivia also known as the Wolf. The literary series began with a short story in 1986 entered into competition from Fantastyka magazine. 14 more short stories followed as readers of the magazine requested, if not demanded, for more. The story became a series of novels by 1994, known as The Witcher Saga.
Despite the presence of the film adaptation, The Hexer, the series gained more popularity through the video games. It’s the popularity from the videogames that propelled The Witcher to have the Netflix Original Series.

Fans received Season 1 very well as the introduction to the three main characters of the story: Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri. Even though the season had mixed impressions on the first half since it had quite a complex execution of timeline, the world is established and each character’s background is aptly covered. Season 2 developed the father-daughter dynamic between Geralt and Ciri at the same time tackled the Chaos that Ciri has. In line with this, the season also featured Yennefer’s discovery of her purpose. At the end of the season, they come together as the family destined to depend on each other.
With Season 3’s synopsis, it appears that there will be much focus on magical and political aspects of their world. Bound by the vow they have committed, Geralt and Yennefer means to keep Ciri safe as the Daughter of Chaos has the capacity to save or place judgement to all.
