Takashi Doscher is set to write the Ghost Of Tsushima movie, led by John Wick director Chad Stahelski.
Ghost of Tsushima, a game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game has been one of the most successful titles for Sony’s PlayStation 4. The title was also re-released on the PlayStation 5 with similar success. The game itself has sold 8 million copies worldwide since its release in July 2020.

The game has received multiple nominations as Game of the Year, Best Narrative or Story, Best Audio, Best Design, Best Technology. It has won Best Visual Art in the 21st Game Developers Choice Awards, Audio Achievement in the British Academy Games Awards, Outstanding Visual Effects in Real Time in Visual Effects Society Awards, Adventure Game of the Year in the 24th Annual DICE Awards and many more.
Ghost of Tsushima is based on real events, from the Mongol invasion of Japan that happened between 1231 up to 1281. The story itself is fiction, similar to what Assassin’s Creed games by Ubisoft has been doing for years. The game happens in the year 1274 in Tsushima, Japan. It follows a samurai warrior Jin Sakai, the last survivor of the Sakai clan. Jin Sakai does his best to eliminate the Mongol forces who has infiltrated their land. The game is an open world, where you can travel throughout the entire island and travel by foot or by horse.
In March 2021, directors of the game Nate Fox and Jason Connell were named as tourism ambassadors to Tsushima Island.
Deadline has just reported that Takashi Doscher is now attached to the movie adaptation of Ghosts of Tsushima. Doscher has a few films under his belt. He has done some writing and directing, with a few indie films.

The director of the film Ghost of Tsushima Chad Stahelski joined the production in March 2021. Stahelski is more known as a famous stuntman who has done a lot of work in the film industry. His known works is from Deadpool 2, Dredd, The Expendables, Speed Racer and so much more. Furthermore, he also got famous as a director with the action movies John Wick starring Keanu Reeves.
Ghost of Tsushima is not the first video game adaptation under Sony’s PlayStation Productions, LLC. The said production company releases movies and television features related to video-game projects. The first film was Uncharted starring Tom Holland. Another film that they are working on is Jax and Daxter. PlayStation Productions is also working on some TV series like The Last of Us starring Pedro Pascal for HBO, Twisted Metal starring Anthony Mackie for Peacock, and God of War for Amazon Prime.
The film Ghost of Tsushima has no set release date as of now.
