Sylvester Stallone would be happy to reprise his role as King Shark if James Gunn makes The Suicide Squad sequels in the future. Of course, a positive relationship with past directors will only mean potential future projects. Stallone is among those actors whom director James Gunn has cast for both his Marvel and DC projects. Indeed, the actor himself has nothing but praises for the director.
In an interview with comicbook.com for the upcoming Paramount Plus series Tulsa King, Stallone shared his enthusiasm. It seems that should there be a certain sequel to The Suicide Squad of James Gunn, Stallone would be down for another round as Nanaue who also goes by the name King Shark.

When the question if he’d be appearing as King Shark again popped in the interview, the legendary Rocky actor-writer responds:
Yes, for sure. I think James has been very generous… He and I are pretty tight. So, if there’s an opportunity… I love him, he’s great.
Unexpectedly, Gunn together with co-CEO Peter Safran is currently deep in piecing together the future of DC Studios. After introducing the two as co-CEOs of the newly formed studio, Gunn went to social media to sound off which characters are fans looking for. Hopefully, these activities and perhaps more which DC Studios is not publicizing lead to shaping a better DC franchise.
Definitely, fans found Sylvester Stallone’s voice as King Shark very likeable. There is charm in his delivery of lines something akin to childlike innocence. All that, even though he has quite an appetite himself. Which only adds to his comedy, dark as it may. But comedy still.

Even though The Suicide Squad did not perform very well in the box office, it was notably successful in launching The Peacemaker HBO series. As the series is clearly within the now referred to as DCU, there are high chances that previous characters will appear in the series as well. It won’t be surprising at all to see the other members of the squad to appear in the show. Aside from that, there really could be a sequel to the movie in the works.
Sylvester Stallone starred in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 then in his The Suicide Squad. Thus, for him to say they are “pretty tight”, has bearing. If ever there would be a sequel or a project in which King Shark may be needed, Stallone would be happy to lend his voice again.
