SFX Magazine Gives Closer Look At Ms. Marvel’s Costume

As expected, with only a few days wait until the series premieres on Disney Plus, SFX magazine shows Ms. Marvel in comic accurate costume.

With a release date of June 8, 2022, the world will finally get to know Kamala Khan who becomes Ms. Marvel in the series. Comicbookmovie.com shares one of the first looks of Ms. Marvel on Disney Plus a photo of the SFX magazine’s cover.

Ms. Marvel is Kamala Khan, portrayed by Iman Vellani. Ms. Marvel is Marvel’s first Muslim-American superhero to headline a series. In the official trailer, one can’t deny the classic coming-of-age feel of the series. A girl trying to get through highschool who happens to gain superpowers. She comes to terms on how to use these, all the while dealing with growing up stuff, while keeping true to her family’s ideals and traditions.

Marvel President Kevin Feige himself commended Vellani’s portrayal of Kamala Khan. He even compares her to Tom Holland, saying:

Much like Tom Holland and Peter Parker, Iman is a much bigger Marvel fan than we realized. She carries this Unabomber notebook with her everywhere, with scribbles and ideas. And why wouldn’t we want to hear them? Not just because she’s playing the lead, but because if she wasn’t playing the lead, she’d be commenting on the show online. So better comment before the show’s done, and try to incorporate the best of those ideas.

In the comics, Kamala Khan’s exposure to the Terrigen Mist gave her her powers. This makes her actually an Inhuman. Her powers are likened to the abilities of Mister Fantastic and Ant-Man where she can stretch her body as well as enlarge and shrink herself to size. There is even one time she paper-thinned herself in the comics.

This actually created a divide among fans who are looking forward to the series. However, everyone is still looking forward to see it. After the trailer showed how different her powers are going to be in the live action series, the costume seems to appease fans. Disney now shows that her costume is one of the most, if not the most, comic book accurate costumes for any Marvel character in the MCU to date.

I for one am looking forward to the style in which this series will be delivered. Right off the bat it promises to be an enjoyable ride.
