Sebastian Stan Is Always Open For Luke Skywalker Role

There is a resurgence of fans’ affirmative reaction in the proposition to cast Sebastian Stan as Luke Skywalker and the actor expresses that he is always open to take on the role.

People always come up to Sebastian Stan the idea that he can pass as the new Luke Skywalker.

In fact this is always surprising and flattering to him.

In the YouTube channel Esquire, he answered questions and reacted to online photos.

This was part of a promotion for the new hit show ‘Pam & Tommy’.

He began the video sharing his experience in transforming into Tommy Lee.

From achieving the body of Tommy Lee to the tattoos to the music classes he had to go through.

Questions came up that tackled his past projects like Gossip Girl and Marvel films.

2017 was when it first came out, or at least I learned about it.

Stan revealed he would be more than happy to play the part when someone first asked him the question during the Rhode Island Comic Con.

Stan shared:

I just want to say here that anytime anyone would like to call me and ask me about Luke Skywalker I’d be very happy [to play him]

This was after fans rendered a meme with his face superimposed on Luke Skywalker’s features viral during that year.

From then on, interest and reception of the idea grew to the point that even Mark Hamill himself chimed in saying he would even love to play Stan’s father any day.

In Good Morning America, Stan even called him Dad and congratulated him on the then Star Wars movie.

Disney+ Actually Rehyping the Meme

The recent successes of Disney+ on their Star Wars series keep people thinking Luke Skywalker can very possibly have his own series as well.

In fact it is very evident in the Mandalorian Season 2, particularly the finale entitled: The Rescue, and now Episode 6 of the Book of Boba Fett entitled: From the Desert Comes a Stranger.

Fans love to see Luke Skywalker again.

Because there is still so much to tell about Luke’s journey in the Star Wars saga, he will have to be recast for future appearances.

CGI can only go so far.

Even though Luke and Grogu’s appearance in Episode 6 showcased vast improvement of effects and fluidity of movement from the Rescue, having a new actor for Luke Skywalker would indeed be practical.

Mark Hamill further states back in 2018:

You know, it’s amazing to me — George [Lucas] gave them a canvas so large that they’re going to be able to– I mean, the possibilities are infinite. So who knows? They also ask me ‘What young actor do you think could play him?’ Sky’s the limit. And I’m sure they’re going to keep making these things long after I’m gone.

Suffice to say, he is already one with the force if a new Luke will wield the green light saber.

And Sebastian Stan says to “Never say never”.
