The added cast of characters mostly rub unfavorably to Percy Jackson’s school life. First, Olivea Morton will be Nancy Bobofit. In the books, she is a mortal girl who would tease Grover as frequent as she could in Yancy Academy. Her actions towards Percy’s friend led him to his first manifestation of demi-godly powers. Second, Dior Goodjohn will be Clarisse La Rue, daughter of Ares the God of War. Thus, she is does well leading in battles and at times, Camp Half-Blood’s bully. Finally, Charlie Bushnell is Luke Castellan. In the series, Castellan is one of the main antagonists.

In the show, there will be slight differences on the depiction of the characters. The author writes that Luke Castellan is the head counselor of the Hermes cabin. As such, Luke will soon become one of the most influential people in Percy’s life. Perhaps what would appear as antagonizing the hero is only means to hone his inner god.  Riordan also wrote LaRue’s description to be less of a bully but more of an intensely loyal friend. However, as Ares’ daughter, it’s undeniable that she can still be intimidating to newcomers to which, the author warns Percy to look out for. As for Bobofit, more than just a splash of water from a nearby fountain, the author says she may have to take a swim at some point in the series. It would seem that annoying Poseidon’s son will not bode well for his nemesis in Yancy Academy.
