NBC orders pick up reboot series for 90s popular sci-fi series Quantum Leap starring the The Unknown Country actor Raymond Lee.
Deadline reports that NBC has already ordered the pilot for a Quantum Leap pick up reboot. Apparently, the show is already undergoing some reshoots related to direction not casting.
Multi-Award winning actor Ernie Hudson of GhostBusters, The Family Business and The Crow joins cast. Mason Alexander Park of Cowboy Bebop and The Sandman and Nanrisa Lee of Bosch and Westworld and budding actress Caitlin Bassett are also in the reboot series.

The pick up reboot series Quantum Leap happens 30 years from the disappearance of Scott Bakula’s Dr. Sam Beckett. Dr. Sam Beckett theorized that time travel within one’s own lifetime is possible, and obtains government support to build his project “Quantum Leap”. One day, he steps into the Quantum Leap Accelerator to test so that the project will not be cancelled. After which, he vanished upon activating the accelerator. He then travels occupying the consciousness of another person who lived within his lifetime.
The story happens during the present day, which is thirty years after the vanishing of Dr. Beckett. A crew is sent to investigate the events that transpired. They have to understand his studies about Quantum Leap and about Dr. Beckett himself.
Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt writes and executive produces the series together with Martin Gero. Quantum Leap creator Don Bellisario and Deborah Pratt also executive produces.
Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, produces the series with I Have an Idea! Entertainment of Lilien and Wynbrandt. Bellisarion for Belisarius Productions and Gero for Quinn’s House Productions.

The series was popular during the 1990s with the unique concept of time travel within one’s recorded lifetime. Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell practically carried the show. There was such a wide array of sci-fi adventures then but unlike space exploration, Quantum Leap went with nostalgia and charm.
Could there really be a connection between the Dr. Sam Beckett and an upcoming new character? Will the new series feature past reels? Or will they feature a parallelism of Dr. Beckett’s experiences to that of Lee’s Dr. Ben Seong.
