New MCU Punisher TV Show In The Works

There’s a new Punisher TV show in the works and it seems like a perfect time for Frank Castle to join the rest of the MCU.

Jon Bernthal is the man most suspected to take up the reigns of the skull-logoed anti-hero.

He has been quoted as having said:

It’s not about whether you do the character; it’s about whether you can do it right, and I’m only interested in doing it right.

His time playing the character in both Netflix’s Daredevil and The Punisher have been highly regarded by fans.

With the ownership of the Netflix titles having switched back to Disney the timing seems perfect for The Punisher to take his first steps into the MCU.

Small Screen’s sources gave information on the new MCU Punisher TV show.

Spoilers for Spider-Man No Way Home and Hawkeye ahead.

The introduction of Kingpin in Hawkeye and Matthew Murdock in No Way Home played by the original Netflix actors bodes well for the casting of Bernthal as The Punisher and his introduction into the MCU.

According to Small Screen, of all the former Netflix shows, The Punisher is said to be the furthest developed at this moment with a script already completed.

A source who had read the script was quoted as saying:

It’s looking like it’ll be pretty violent – like the Netflix show. I think it’ll be the MCU’s most violent show yet. It won’t be a continuation from the previous show though. It sounds as though it’ll be a new start – probably in an alternate timeline.

This would go along quite well with a lot of the madness that has and is going on with the Multiverse in the MCU.

Kevin Feige is known to want to put his own spin on characters when they enter the MCU.

So, having the series start over again makes perfect sense from that standpoint.

Small Screen’s source continued on to state that the show will have a hard R rating because of violence and gore.

With the character likely starting as a villain of sorts on the run, it makes sense for the man known as a vigilante who kills mob members.

A small cameo has been rumored for the character in the upcoming Moon Knight show which would solidify the character in the MCU and start us back down the road towards another Punisher Tv show.
