Netflix’s Masters Of The Universe Will Star Kyle Allen As He-Man

Kyle Allen will officially star as He-Man in the upcoming live-action film adaptation of the popular 80’s animated series “Masters of the Universe“.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe dominated every boy’s play and television time during the 80s.

Mattel introduced He-Man and the Masters of the Universe action figures for boys back in the 1980s.

The toys had minicomics telling backstories and adventures of the characters.

Eventually, these mini comics became children’s books then turned to comic books under DC Comics.

Finally, it became a television series through Filmation.

The driving theme of the whole series is Good vs Evil.

It portrays He-Man’s ongoing fight against the Evil Skeletor.

Each side of the battle has a roster of heroes, all of which also has a toy version released.

The series enjoyed its popularity until it waned at the end of the decade.

Years after the MOTU Golden Age, recreation of the series have been made and now, a live-action film adaptation is once again in the works.

This time, the project is to be with Netflix.

Brothers Adam and Aaron Nee, known for their work in The Lost City, will direct the movie which they co-wrote with David Callaham.

David Callaham is known for his work in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings as well as Wonder Woman 1984.

Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch are to produce the film.

Starting off with Kyle Allen as Adam a.k.a. He-Man, the rest of the cast members can get filled up hopefully real quickly.

Kyle Allen is an American actor and ballet dancer.

His previous works include the Hulu drama series The Path where he appears in all 36 episodes.

A more notable project for Allen is his portrayal of Balkan.

Balkan was one of the Jets in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, based on the Broadway musical of the same name.

It is interesting to note that Kyle Allen is quite busy with other projects this year.

Ranging from pre- to post-production, he is involved with Space Oddity as Alex McAllister, The Greatest Beer Run Ever as Bobby Pappas and Rosaline as Romeo.

Given this pace, perhaps we will see a newest version of Eternia very soon.

We can’t wait to see updates about this production and relish in MOTU, Castle Grayskull and Eternia nostalgia.
