Netflix’s All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 On Pre-Production

Netflix’s Geeked Week event declares that Season 2 of the Korean zombie apocalypse drama All Of Us Are Dead is on pre-production.

After the phenomenal Squid Game, Netflix follows this achievement with All Of Us Are Dead. A local high school professor’s experiment wreaks havoc to the community. Whereas, his intention to save his son results to deadly ramifications for everyone else.

The fascination with the Zombie genre is still strong with All Of Us Are Dead especially on Netflix. Netflix has its period zombie apocalypse series Kingdom that now has two seasons and a special episode. The interest began to rise in popularity from the movie Train to Busan.

Interestingly, the series itself can be summarized with two terms “zombie apocalypse”. However, the focus are characters and their struggles as infection progresses. There is a myopic presentation of character emotions because everything is happening fast and all at once.

While fans experience frustrations and anxiety as they watched the series, they still clamor for a sequel. So many scenes from the first season left viewers at the edge of their seat. Equally important to note that there are also times where there were “facepalm” moments as well. Fans report that they have lost count on the number of times they scream to the screens “run!”.

All of Us Are Dead served up quite an escape for the viewers. More than once, we have encountered reactions like disbelief that the person did what he or she did. Never mind the unbelievable infection that triggered it all. The viewers actually enjoyed watching every episode. The Netflix series reflect 83% average on the Tomatometer with 78% average audience score.

Naturally, episodes of the series also touch on family drama together with highschool romance, close to slice of life scenes on top of the action. It’s a Korean series after all.

While details for the Season 2 All Of Us Are Dead are still under wraps, the director has stated they did the series with the sequel in mind. Whats-on-netflix reports that director Lee Jae Gyoo said:

The story itself was set with season 2 in mind, so if season 2 comes out, it might be a little more interesting and expanded story. If Season 1 was a survival period for humans, there is a sense of humor, but Season 2 feels like it will be a survival period for zombies.

Actually, the last part of the statement gives a hint as to the potential content of Season 2. Reportedly, Season 2 entered pre-production on July 13, 2022. It will only be a matter of time for the final list of cast is ready then filming.
