Netflix Denies Fate The Winx Saga Its Third Season

Fate The Winx Saga has its second season as its final as Netflix is not renewing the series for a third instalment. The live action adventure drama based on Nickelodeon’s animated series Winx Club stars Abigail Cowen as Bloom Peters. Precious Mustapha, Hannah van der Westhuysen, Elisha Applebaum andEliot Salt, join her as her friends Aisha, Stella, Musa and Terra.

The news left fans completely surprised and disappointed as the latest season still promised a great story to tell. Many commented that they could have at least had the chance to wrap the story up better if they knew this was to happen. Not many shows get the chance to complete the story they want to tell. And, it appears, Fate The Winx Saga is one of them.

The series showrunner Brian Young takes to Instagram to break the news about The Winx Saga casting its final spell. He posts:

So this is not fun new to share, but Netflix have decided not to move forward with Season Three of Fate: The Winx Saga. This is especially tough because I know how many of you loved this season. It’s a heartbreaking silver lining, but a silver lining all the same.

Young proceeds to thank the cast and crew that made the show possible. Moreover, he thanks everyone who loved watching the show. He continues:

I’m so proud of everyone who worked on the show, and so happy we got to tell the stories we did. Our cast and crew put in a ton of hard work creating this world and these characters. I’m grateful for each and everyone one of them, and for all of you for watching.

The showrunner ends his message with:

It’s been an amazing four years. Hopefully, we’ll see each other again in the future! So much love.

While Netflix has not posted any information as to the reason for cancelation, fans expect they won’t get any reason at all. Many now wonder how the story of Bloom and her friends can be concluded despite this unfortunate development.

Even though the series generated a disparity between critics and audience impressions, the second season generally had a huge potential for the story. It had a lot of loose ends that people assumed at least they will get a third season to resolve the conflicts. But, Netflix has decided no.

Keep the fire burning Bloom.
