TVN of South Korea confirms that Part 2 of Alchemy Of Souls will premiere on December 10 and this applies for Netflix streaming. The highly successful fictional fantasy drama will answer all questions left unresolved for the episode that aired August 28.
Fans will only have about over a month’s wait left until the second part of the series airs on TVN and Netflix. Park Joon Hwa directs the series that sisters Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran wrote. The follow up series will be half as long as Part 1 and will have episodes released every Saturday and Sunday starting December 10 with the finale on January 8, 2023 schedule.
Alchemy of Souls told about the land of Daeho with its kingdom intricately ruling with magic and mysticism. 4 renowned families of mages bring forth characters into play. The primary character for the first season is Naksu, an assassin’s soul who took over the body of Mooduk. Actress Jung So Min portrayed the role to commercial and critical success. Opposite her is Lee Jae-Wook as Jang Uk, the mage who bears the King’s Star.

Being a soul shifter, Naksu in Mooduk’s body began to petrify at the end of the season. This gives the impression that the body has indeed perished. However, in the final moments, handmaidens recovered the body before it completely turned into stone. Preview of the second season features the return of all the characters in possibly a time after the final moments of season 1.
The past months have brought out ire among viewers as news about Jung no longer appearing for the second season arose. True enough, the preview featured in the last episode showed the return of Naksu but in her own body, not of Mooduk. The teaser only intensified the growing disappointment from fans who fully enjoyed Jung’s performance as Naksu/Mooduk.
Recent updates indicate that Jung will return for the second season but as a minor character. This implies that she will appear to fully close the chapter about her character. TVN officially announced that the season 2 entitled Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow will air in December 10.
Presumably, the second season has finished its shoot and may be at the final stages of its post-production. Actor Yoo In-Soo who plays one of the renowned young mages Park Dang-Gu posted on his instagram what seems to be a celebration on his character’s wrap up in the series.
The post caption translates:
The ending of ‘(Alchemy)’ is well! 😊 I am so so happy that I was able to finish a very big piece with good people. Please show your love and interest in the upcoming broadcast of ‘(Alchemy): Light and Shadow’! -Park Billiards-
