Matt Wagner is a writer and producer who penned a comic in pre-production entitled Django/Zorro. Furthermore, he also wrote and produced at TV series currently in post-production entitled Grendel, which will have 8 episodes.

Primetime Emmy nominee Steve Yockey is also a writer and producer. Specifically, his projects include the TV series Flight Attendant, Supernatural, Doom Patrol and Scream: TV Series, and Awkward.

Greg Berlanti is also a Primetime Emmy nominee producer with 73 credits to his name. Equally important is that he has his own fanbase who identifies him as the showrunner of DC characters on television. Apart from Dead Boy Detectives, Berlanti has Gotham Knights television series and an episode of upcoming Green Lantern TV series in pre-production. DC projects he is currently show-running are The Flash, Superman & Lois, Batwoman, Legends of Tomorrow, and the recently concluded Doom Patrol. DC projects he has concluded are Supergirl that ran for a total of 126 episodes, Stargirl with 26 episodes and his brainchild Arrow with 170 episodes.

Gaiman and Wagner’s Dead Boy Detectives in the television series will have George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri for the lead characters. They will play dead British teenagers Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland. In every episode of the series, it has the intention to be
a fresh take on a ghost story that explores loss, grief, and death through the lens of Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland … and their very alive friend, Crystal Palace. It’s a lot like a vintage detective series — only darker and on acid.”
Cassius Nelsoni portrays the character Crystal. The series will also welcome a character from Doom Patrol who was Night Nurse played by Ruth Connell. In addition, Briana Cuoco, Yuyu Kitamura and Jenn Lyon will also star in the series.

Incoming producer Steve Yockey is actually a fan of the comic book source and he says

I’ve been obsessed with this comic for a long time, so it’s a true passion project. And Jeremy, Berlanti Productions, DC, WBTV, HBO Max — they’re all encouraging me to run with every wild, bizarre, and unsettling choice. The result is going to be really dark fun.

Its always a good sign to have actual fans in the production team. This is mainly because viewers can be assured that the original feel of the source has a high chances of alignment with the end-product. With this in mind, we are truly looking forward to the adventures Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland have in store.
