With Marvel opening the multiverse concept, the entry of the mutants is all but confirmed. In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness the confirmed presence of Sir Patrick Stewart‘s Professor Xavier in the Illuminati practically certifies it.

Very soon, mutants will arrive in the MCU. Wolverine will definitely be one of them. However, the long-portraying actor of the character, Hugh Jackman, has already expressed he is not taking on the role in the future any more. Even though his record for portraying Wolverine is recently broken in the Guinness Book of World Records, he still can claim he is the only actor to have ever played the role for the longest time. That is until the next actor is officially arrives.
Fans threw many names in the hat to suggest who can take the Wolverine role next. Taron Egerton is among the shortlisted names for Wolverine. Now, sources say he is actually in active talks to be the next Logan. It’s understandable that Marvel will be casting a younger bub. They think of the characters with stories to be in the MCU for the long haul not just a one-project plan. Bringing the X-Men in the MCU definitely calls for multiple projects. This isn’t only in terms of Wolverine’s story arc. Talks about Jubilee, Jean Grey, Rogue and even Gambit are steadily going about. Personally, I won’t mind a Nightcrawler and Beast series. That would be interesting.

Indeed, it would be nice though since MCU is ripe into the multiverse as well as time variants, Jackman can come in for a cameo. He doesn’t even have to unsheathe the claws. Maybe show him puffing a cigar or right after Logan gets wounded in battle, his scars immediately heal. Doctor Strange 2 can be the vehicle for a lot of cameos and people will come to the theaters for it. This will be like a confirmation of greater stories to come.
MCU’s future will be exciting indeed.
