Alexandra Daddario is Rowan in the upcoming ‘Mayfair Witches‘ series at AMC from the “The Lives of the Mayfair Witches” novels of Anne Rice.
Variety.com reports that AMC has found Rowan in Alexandra Daddario.
President of Entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks, Dan McDermott said:
“Alexandra is a singular talent who has lit up the screen in everything she’s been in and we couldn’t be happier to have her on board leading the cast of a series that will be a centerpiece of an expanding Anne Rice universe on AMC+ and AMC. We found our Rowan and can’t wait for her to meet viewers later this year in a series being brilliantly conceived and led by Esta, Michelle and Mark.”

‘Mayfair Witches’ Series at AMC Stars Alexandra Daddario as Rowan
After the Greek Mythology based film series, Daddario landed roles on various movies and tv series. Her most recent role is Rachel, one of the main characters in the White Lotus series.
With ‘Mayfair Witches’ well into development and production, AMC’s search for Rowan is finally over. AMC ordered 8 episodes for the ‘Mayfair Witches’.
Meanwhile, creators have yet to announce how much of the three books are in the first season.
Writers and executive producers of the series are Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford. It’s before author Anne Rice passed away last December 2021 that she and her son closed the deal for AMC. The deal allowed AMC to acquire rights to the best-selling book series. The book series are with a total of 18 titles under “The Vampire Chronicles” and “The Lives of the Mayfair Witches”. The series’ production proceed to develop with Rice’s son as one of the executive producers.
Anne Rice’s ‘Mayfair Witches’ follows Rowan, a neurosurgeon who discovers that she hails from a long line of witches.
She uncovers dark secrets within her family as she discovers an evil entity tied to her family tree. Facing this evil entity can cost the lives of everyone she loves as well as her own.

The dark theme of the series may cover controversial discussions possibly in biblical proportions. The novels touched stark evil entities, explicit carnal scenes as well as incest.
This most certainly is not a series for everyone in the family.
At the same time, it will question how the viewers understand the essence of their own faith and tickle the integrity of their beliefs.
‘Mayfair Witches’ is one of two active projects in development under Anne Rice’s titles.
It’d be interesting to see how Spalding and Ashford will interpret the provocative novel trilogy into television and streaming series.
We wonder how they will interpret Lasher, the Talamasca and the Taltos in the series.
No matter how these entities and groups will be presented, we are sure Rowan is in good hands with Alexandra Daddario.
