Matt Reeves discloses that The Batman spin-off series has now evolved to horror-themed story focusing in Arkham Asylum.
On the best track in the Box Office with $128.5M in local theatres and $120M in international release, The Batman cashes in at a record of $148.5 World Wide.
This is not an easy feat to say the least.
On top of pandemic and protocol, there’s quite a number of skeptics on the noir Batman of Matt Reeves.
The Box Office and comments online has proven the naysayers wrong.
Further, spin-offs are full speed ahead for a Penguin series, and the Gotham City series.
The Gotham City series is initially focusing on Gotham as essentially one of the characters in The Batman universe Reeves has started to weave.

The Direct has an update from the director himself as to its development:
The GCDP thing, that story has story has kinda evolved. We’ve actually now [moved] more into the realm of exactly what would happen in the world of Arkham as it relates coming off of our movie, and some of the characters… almost leaning into the idea of… it’s like a horror movie or a haunted house that is Arkham.
The idea, again the way that Gotham is a character in the movie, I really want Arkham to exist as a character. You go into this environment and encounter these characters in a way that feels really fresh. And so in our work on Gotham, that story started to evolve, and it started feeling [like], ‘Wait, we should really lean into this.’ And then that’s kinda where that’s gone
At this point, the universe that Matt Reeves has started to show the world seems to be truly organic.
Somehow, the series wants to introduce Gotham City and in effect the Arkham Asylum the way it wants to.
The way it is portrayed in the comics as well.
Gotham City is a dark city wrought with criminal activities.
Its special character individuals bring forth extraordinary danger to the people.
It’s the city that gave birth to Batman.

It’s also the city where one finds the Arkham Asylum.
This is the place where Gotham keeps the most dangerous convoluted minds.
The series has yet to disclose the flow or cast or other details on its production.
Based on what Reeves has shared, it offers a closer scope into the Police Department and the asylum where the extraordinary individuals ultimately go.
The series could be a collection short stories featuring characters already inside Arkham.
How did they end up there? What pushed them over the edge?
Is Gotham truly safer as they are in confinement?
How many episodes and who will be in each episode?
The questions just keep coming.
And the possibilities just keep growing.
