A Marvel Studios banner displays Anthony Mackie’s Captain America and Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter for the SDCC. The photo is circulating on Twitter from account owner Cris Parker @3CFilms. While Mackie’s character has already been seen from the finale of the Disney Plus series The Falcon and The Winter Solder, Sharon Carter’s appearance is quite new.
Fans have pointed out that the image displayed to promote the SDCC depicts a comic book accurate Sharon Carter. The image also promises that the participation of Marvel in the convention will showcase the upcoming Captain America movie.

MCU’s Sharon Carter first appeared in Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014. Then VanCamp reprised her in Captain America: Civil War in 2016. Last year, she also appeared in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and revealed to be Power Broker by the end of the series. Apart from the live action version of Sharon Carter, VanCamp also gave her voice in the animated series What If…?
In the MCU, she is Peggy Carter’s niece. Growing up with Aunt Peggy’s stories of heroism, she followed her footsteps into S.H.I.E.L.D. gaining the code Agent 13. For a while, she and Steve Rogers had mutual affection but never got the chance to push the relationship forward.
In the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Agent 13 resolved to survive on her own with implied resentment towards authority. She became Power Broker and steadily grew her black market network, positioning herself back into government access.
The banner on display for SDCC features Sharon Carter in a comic book accurate suit. A reply to that tweet from Ground Breaker @GroundBreaker49 showed another image, this time a similar look but with the full body render. The image may not be an official rendering of the character but details are very impressive.

As Sharon Carter is now back within the ranks of the US authority, it’s assumed that she is now taking on missions similar to Natasha Romanov’s Black Widow. There is resemblance between the two characters’ suits. Even Yelena Belova portrayed by Florence Pugh got to don a similar white suit during the movie Black Widow. Carter’s return to the CIA is definitely something she is taking advantage of as the Power Broker.
Concept art or not, it’s evident that Marvel Studios is paying very close attention to comic book appearance accuracy. Some aspects in character development may have deviated but they always have the Multiverse explanation for that. Captain America 4 is to put Sam Wilson’s Captain America to the test. Is Chris Evan’s Steve Rogers correct in his decision to pass the mantle on to him? Does Wilson truly have what it takes to accept the Shield?
There is only a week left before any of us finds out any clue to anything about the upcoming film.
