Marvel Studios updates production for Disney Plus Ironheart with a new official cast member in Paul Calderon. The series will have 6 episodes with Dominique Thorne as the eponymous genius Riri Williams. Thorne debuts Ironheart in the newest feature from Marvel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Meanwhile, Calderon joins Anthony Ramos, Shakira Barrera, Manny Montana, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Rashida Olayiwola, Shea Coulee and Zoe Terakes for the Disney Plus series.
Directors Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes be at the helm of the series. Writer credits go to Chinaka Hodge, Eve Ewing from the comics Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato Jr created.

Paul Calderon’s role in the Ironheart series is still under wraps. However, IMDb lists 1 episode for his appearance. Perhaps, later on in production we will hear more about his character and how he will be of an impact to William’s story.
Calderon will not be new to television series viewers. Especially for 2022 This Is Us where he portrayed the older Risto Rivas. Even more in 2017 to 2021 of Bosch where he is Jimmy Robertson appearing in 30 episodes of the series. Quite notably, he is also IN 2016 Fear the Walking Dead as Alejandro Nunez for at least 6 episodes. The Screen Actors Guild Awards nominated the series Boardwalk Empire in 2015 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. He was Arquimedes who is the personal bodyguard to Steve Buscemi’s Enoch “Nucky” Thompson. Paul Calderon’s acting experience covers crime and family drama as well as comedy and even slice of life.

If true, the Disney Plus series Ironheart of Marvel Studios will pit Riri Williams’ and her technologically advanced suit to the Hood. Somewhat similar to Iron Man battling it out with The Mandarin. The series is in position to let science fight magic or mysticism. Calderon can be one of Williams’ MIT professors or someone she knew as she was growing up.
Also, Calderon could even be related to Ramos’ character. Indeed, the possibility is always there.
Ryan Coogler’s Proximity is on the list of companies under the production credits. Furthermore, Hodge, Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian join Coogler as executive producers together with Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, and Zoie Nagelhout.
