Latest news on the Armor Wars project of Marvel Studios say that the supposed Disney Plus series starring Don Cheadle is now developing into a movie. The possible reason that the project is taking its time in the incubation period is because its getting ready for a full length theatrical feature. Instead of a 6 episode series, Marvel Studio’s Armor Wars is gearing up for a film feature.

The Hollywood Reporter posts this development in its article stating that the studio keeps its commitment to tell the story the right way. Apparently, during their development process, they came down with an important conclusion. They determined that the project is a better match to be a film feature than a series. Further, as Marvel Studios always does, the newest film feature will be having a theatrical release.
Don Cheadle is still MCU’s Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes who is also War Machine ever since 2010 Iron Man 2. Meanwhile, the upcoming movie also keeps Yassir Lester as the writer. At the moment, the movie still has to name a director to sit on its helm. Everyone expects Marvel Studios to announce the director very soon.
As for the story of the project, lead actor Cheadle shed some light on the plot a few days ago during the D23. It is in line with the comics back in late 1980s. Iron Man had this storyline from David Michelinie’s pen and Mark Bright’s art. There, the main plot point is what would happen if Tony Stark’s technology lands on bad hands.

Cheadle further said that Marvel does adaptations best especially in finding ways to tell the story with a twist. People connected his character’s presence in the upcoming Secret Invasion as well. More and more, the idea that Rhodey may actually be a Skrull plays up in fan conversations. So, could he actually be one? The possibility is always there.
As Armor Wars is now becoming a film feature from Marvel Studios, definitely, War Machine has a bigger role to play in the coming Multiverse Saga.
