Yes, Marvel is working on a Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Spider-Man Movie.
According to Geekosity, sources have reported that Marvel and Sony have discussed a new Spider-Man movie starring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
Tom Holland will be sitting this one out.
Without a doubt, the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home helped to boost box office receipts.
Rumor has it that the new film will be titled, Spider-Men, but that could change.
Marvel Is Working On A Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield Spider-Man Movie
This is in the early stages of discussion, but being followed closely.
Sony knows they have the opportunity to capitalize on the fact that bringing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield into the current Spider-Man films helped Spider-Man: No Way Home earn over $1.37 billion worldwide, so far.
This makes it the 12th biggest film in history, as of January 5, 2022.
Even with the pandemic, the film has brought in over $627 million in North America alone.
Obviously, Sony and Marvel hear what the fans want.
It’s no secret, at this point, that fans want more Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
The entertainment giant is touting the pairing as a Spider-Verse buddy flick.
Who doesn’t want to see that?
Giving the film a name like Spider-Men helps to separate it from Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise.
Though, if Sony can get what it wants, Marvel Studios will be involved in developing the film.
An interesting fact about Spider-Men: in 2012, Brian Michael Bendis wrote a comic book called Spider-Men.
It was set in the multiverse and starred Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
Is this where we’ll see Miles introduced to fans on the big screen?
With Amazing Spider-Man 3 being shelved back in 2015, and the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, how could we not see Andrew Garfield returning?
Also, when Tobey Maguire says he wants to come back to the Spider-Man role, who’s going to say no?
Spider-Man 4 Confirmed By Sony, Disney, and Producers
Everything seems to have fallen into place to be able to bring fans many more Spider-Man movies.
According to a New York Times interview, Sony and Disney, along with producers Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal have confirmed that a Spider-Man 4 is in the works.
Tom Holland’s success in the role of our favorite web-slinger is something the studios can’t just ignore.
Fans might assume that the fallout of Peter’s sacrifice, at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, would be addressed in a multiverse film.
However, Amy Pascal stated in an interview:
At the end of the movie we just made, you see Spider-Man make a momentous decision, one that you’ve never seen him make before. It’s a sacrifice. And that gives us a lot to work with for the next film.
She also added:
This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel. We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.
This bodes well for Spider-Man fans.
Sony and Marvel have yet to confirm these statements, however.
