Looks like we will see a fourth instalment to Liam Neeson’s Bryan Mills as the actor is currently in development for Taken 4.
Take it with a grain of salt, as it’s Giant Freakin Robot reporting that Liam Neeson is working on the fourth movie.
The first movie, Taken in 2008, told about Mills as a retired CIA operative. He is a father who only means to reconnect with his daughter. Albanian smugglers kidnapped his daughter and syndicate was about to auction her off to sex slavers. Mills did everything in his skill set to find and save her. On a side note: the movie is the birthplace of the “I will find you…” phone dialogue meme.

The second movie premiered 2012, where a father of a young man Mills killed during the first movie seeks to avenge his son. Then, the third movie is his mission to find out who framed him for the murder of his wife.
Liam Neeson was about 55 years old when the first movie premiered. Taken actually launched him into the action genre with remarkable lead characterizations.
Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen wrote for all the three movies. Pierre Morel directed the first while Olivier Megaton was the director for the second and third.
Even though critics aren’t too ecstatic about the Taken franchise, World Wide Box Office still attests to its bankable potential for a fourth instalment.
With a production budget of $25M, $45M and $48M respectively, the movies got cash registers busy with $227M, $378M, $328M in the World Wide Box Office, respectively.
These figures still give 20th Century Studios and the respective distributors enough confidence to get the fourth done.
The fact that they already have Liam Neeson on board is testament to their intention to keep the ball rolling.
For the most part, people still wonder what story is left to tell about Bryan Mills?

Picking our ideas as the question is just out there.
The fourth movie could be sort of “passing the torch” kind of story. They do have to mix in a different feel to the new movie, if only to revive the franchise.
Bryan Mills is an ex-CIA operative. Maybe he can take an apprentice and there could be complications.
Not that it will create a saga that his apprentice turns bad… we saw that already.
Or maybe they will go that direction, who is to say?
The point is there has to be something different. Maybe a grandson?
Speculations aside, we look forward to seeing this newest addition to the franchise. Liam Neeson will surely not allow Taken 4 granted.
