Glasgow, Scotland is Gotham City for not only HBO Max’s Batgirl but also for The Flash starring Ezra Miller and The Batman starring Robert Pattinson. The Cityscapes with its streets, edifices and cathedrals have quite the cinematic fit once seen through the lens and with appropriate lighting. In Gotham’s case, absence of lighting I presume. The collection of photos and videos are just the initial instalment of how much Glasgow and filming of Batgirl impacted Grace.

She posts that her followers should prepare for more instagram emotional dump. Months of filming and connecting with people will be very emotional for any actor. The emotional investment they have for the character also includes that character’s familiarity and love for the environment that he or she apparently moves in. Grace clearly felt community and acceptance on set.

Batgirl will be a very important addition to the DCEU. Not just because it is the film that will introduce the role but because it is the film that re-connects Michael Keaton to his Batman role from many years ago. According to production news, Michael Keaton’s Batman will be a major player in the DC Extended Universe. Keaton is especially thrilled to don the cowl again. With upcoming features other than Batgirl, Keaton’s Batman will sort of be a unifying element for all DCEU films.

Speaking about his thoughts on portraying Batman again after Tim Burton’s movies

When it came around again first of all I was getting curious about it. I thought, ‘Boy, what would that be like?’ And then, coincidentally, there were murmurs, and I got a call from Warner Bros. They wanted to talk to me about something and there was hints of Batman. It has to be good. There’s no reason to do it if it’s not good. It’s not gonna really change anything. And I just jumped in and had fun. And why would you not? You know, I mean, director Andy Muschietti is fantastic, and he’s really creative. I don’t know. It’s fun.

Fun for the Dark Knight and we are looking forward to it all this time.

Christina Hodson, with past works on The Flash and Birds of Prey, is the writer for Batgirl. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah direct the film. J.K. Simmons and Irory Aquino also star in the movie as James Gordon and Alysia Yeoh, respectively.

Batgirl starts streaming on HBO Max within 2022. As filming is just about to wrap up, post production can still take a few months. Perhaps a November or December release date will happen for the new vigilante of Gotham City.
