With Leslye Headland as director, writer, executive producer and showrunner, The Acolyte tells its tale centuries before Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

After Squid Game made its mark in the international entertainment scene, the series is now boasting several Emmy nominations. Rated 8/10 on its IMDb page, it is the prized title in Netflix’s series library. It topped all viewing across all countries that the streaming giant has under its wing. Now, it won 4 Primetime Emmy Awards. First being Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary Program: Chae Kyoung-sun, Gim En-jee, and Kim Jeong-gon. Second being Outstanding Stunt Performance:Lim Tae-hoon, Shim Sang-min, Kim Cha-i and Lee Tae Young. Third being Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series – Lee Yoo-mi. And, fourth, Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Single Episode: Jai-hoon Cheong, Moon-Jung Kang, Hye-Jin Kim, Hyunjin Jo,Seong Cheol Kim, Jae Bum Lee, Min-Soo Shin, Jong Seok Yang and Sung-Jun Kim. The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards happens this Tuesday, September 13.

Meanwhile, The Acolyte production announced Amandla Stenberg as lead last July. The announcement confirmed rumors that began way back December last year. The series will show the grand years of the High Republic Era, a time when the Jedi thrived. These were times when the galaxy thought they have cleaned out the Sith from its existence.

Audiences know Stenberg as Rue in the 2012 The Hunger Games. The actor also adds titles The Hate U Give, The Darkest Minds, Everything, Everything, and Dear Evan Hansen to their acting credit.
