Among the stand alone projects of DC, Joker belongs to ones that breathes safely despite the Warner Bros. Discovery house-cleaning.

The teaser seems to depict the Joker to have found his love and celebrate their relationship. In the comics, Harley Quinn is Joker’s psychiatrist who falls inlove with him. Her affections drove her to her own dark convoluted path just to be in Joker’s world. Paul Dini and Bruce Timm originally created the character as a henchwoman for Joker in Batman: The Animated Series back in 1992. Her popularity in the animated series allowed her character to rise as a recurring character then become Joker’s sidekick and love interest. In 1999, she got her first comic book appearance in Batman: Harley Quinn #1 that gave her the origin story everyone knows today. She is Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a psychiatrist in Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum who became enamored for Joker.
It was January this year when we posted that the sequel to the phenomenal blockbuster movie Joker got the greenlight. Now, according to Murphy’s Multiverse, the sequel will mostly take place in Arkham Asylum. Conveniently so, where else will Joker meet Harley right? The teased video also gives a glimpse on how the dynamics of the two will play out. Joker is readily familiar even though it is just a silhouette. His lady love is in no way in an attire that is for a doctor on duty. Assuming this is his imagination, he envisions her as a belle of the ball. And he has her for himself.
If the teaser is in the point of view of Dr. Quinzel then she is romanticizing her affections. Either she believes she can bring him to see beauty in the world or she is willing to bring herself into his no matter how dark it could be.

Last June we also posted the news that Phoenix’s Joker may get to be matched with Harley Quinn to be portrayed by Lady Gaga. Connected to this, people gained the notion that the upcoming sequel could be a musical. At this point, in terms of how the Joker’s mind works, anything is possible. It’s no secret that Todd Phillips has a theatrical vision to this character focused movie. Delving deeper into the Joker’s psyche will eventually touch his musical inclinations as well.
Lady Gaga has time and again demonstrated her acting prowess above her musicality. Among her projects as an actress are House of Gucci, A Star Is Born and American Horror Story. Her talent is on a level that challenges critics and audiences and she never backs down to making a statement. Her connection to the sequel itself leaves audiences to anticipate what she brings to the table for Harley Quinn.
Now we have a specific date in 2024 to mark and see where Joker with his Harley Quinn would bring us.
