Is there a possibility that Warner Bros. is looking at Netflix to house its Justice League Dark? Considering that Netflix already has The Sandman and Lucifer, as well as the abovementioned movie. Maybe? Still this is not official though.

What’s official is Warner Bros. meaning to show a sequel to the 2005 Constantine movie. And, they are very keen on getting key people back. Particularly the lead Keanu Reeves and the director Francis Lawrence. Deadline reports that the sequel project will be a production from Weed Road Pictures, J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot and Hannah Minghella. Akiva Goldsman will be the screenplay writer who will also be a producer himself.

Even though 2005 Constantine only had 46% in the tomatometer, many fans still enjoyed watching Reeves’ portrayal in the movie. Audience score is a decent 72% too. According to The Numbers, 2005 Constantine had a worldwide box office performance of $222M from a $75M production budget. This meant people did want to see it and not just once in the theaters.

Newer Reeves fans get to see it in Netflix. Some did wonder why it never got a sequel. Thankfully, the sequel now is in the works!

Interestingly, the upcoming sequel brings back the director-writer team that also brought I Am Legend into the theaters. Director Lawrence had the 2005 Constantine as his theatrical movie directorial debut. Prior to movies he has made a name for music videos. Since 2005 Constantine, he has directed various blockbuster projects such as The Hunger Games Franchise, and several television movies and series. Writer Goldsman won an Oscar for his work on 2001 A Beautiful Mind. His more recent projects include episodes for Picard and Strange New Worlds.
