Tom Holkenborg also known as Junkie XL will return to the Mad Max franchise as composer for the upcoming project Furiosa.
An update from Variety shares that director, co-writer and producer of Furiosa George Miller confirms Tom Holkenborg aka Junkie XL will return for the movie. Miller revealed the information at Cannes where his film 3000 Years Of Longing was shown. Holkenberg also created the score for the aforementioned movie.

Multi-Award winning composer Tom Holkenborg also known as Junkie XL is critically acclaimed for his work on Mad Max: Fury Road in 2015. His other projects as composer include Love, Death & Robots, Deadpool, Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2, The 355, Army of the Dead, Godzilla vs. Kong, Zack Snyder’s Justice League and Scooby-Doo: A New Universe to name a few. Naturally, having him back to compose for the next Mad Max movie will provide continuity and feel for Furiosa.
Furiosa will be a prequel to Charlize Theron‘s character from the movie Mad Max: Fury Road. The titular role goes to Anya Taylor-Joy. Chris Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II joins her as stars of the movie. The movie will show Furiosa’s younger years in the post-apocalyptic world.
Doug Mitchell will produce the movie with Miller together through their Kennedy Miller Mitchell company with Warner Bros. Pictures as their partner.

7 years in waiting, the next instalment of the Mad Max franchise is finally revving its engine. Stereo and speakers are now pumped with Junkie XL’s score and the crowd goes wild! Furiosa was a very strong character in the Mad Max: Fury Road movie. Audiences saw the depth in Charlize Theron’s portrayal of the character. Thus, there is a challenge in providing the story behind those layers of emotions that Furiosa had in the first movie. What did she go through from her younger years that led her to be how she was during the first movie?
Water or no water, George Miller will serve up Furiosa’s story with the score provided by Junkie XL make no mistake on that.
