Jerry Bruckheimer confirms that he loves actor Nicolas Cage and the script for National Treasure 3 is still in the works.
Screenrant featured Jerry Bruckheimer’s response to a reddit user about his chances of working with Nicolas Cage again. In the comment section, the Top Gun, Pirates of the Caribbean and Bad Boys producer replied how he loves the actor. Further, he proceeded to write that they are working on a script for National Treasure.

Of course, we have also been following the development for the third instalment of National Treasure. Needless to say, it is quite a consensus among audiences that Nicolas Cage’s Benjamin Franklin Gates’s return is long overdue.
However, the actor himself has expressed that development of the third movie may have been stalled to give way to the upcoming series spinoff. The spinoff series features a younger cast with Justin Bartha reprising his character, Riley Poole. The Disney Plus series stars Lisette Alexis as Jess who discovers clues on finding about her family’s history. Catherine Zeta-Jones is the main villain with Zuri Reed, Jordan Rodrigues, Antonio Cipriano, Jake Austin Walker and Lyndon Smith. The spinoff is still currently filming.

Absolutely. I love Nicolas, he’s a brilliant actor and we are currently working on a script for National Treasure.

Yet again, this reply from Bruckheimer actually elated fans with the news that a third is truly coming. And it is coming really soon. Well, comparatively speaking as to the wait fans have had to do from the second movie. And, fans are still waiting. From National Treasure in 2004 and National Treasure: Book of Secrets in 2007, the clock is still slowly ticking. At least, this time their hope is reignited. It’s also a relief to find out that Jerry Bruckheimer loves Nicolas Cage and finds him to be a brilliant actor.
Fans will be delighted to be assured that once official news about National Treasure 3 is out with Nicolas Cage as Ben Gates again. And the script will be worth the wait.
