Recent juicy developments indicate that it could be quite possible for Welsh actor Taron Egerton to be cast as the next Wolverine.
We all know who Wolverine is.
We also know that Hugh Jackman is the only actor who has ever played Wolverine in live-action films.
He took on the role for so many movies.
We practically have more than two decades of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
No one can deny.
Hugh Jackman is Wolverine.

But Marvel needs to pass the torch.
No, we don’t mean to take one of the Fantastic Four and give him to the next person.
The hero with mutant healing powers and adamantium plated skeleton has more stories to tell.
Even though Hugh Jackman can still rock the claws, there is about a small percentage left in the character that he can portray in his current age.
With the current phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a younger team including Wolverine has more chances on story focus.
As early as 2019, rumors circulated on facebook from Mikey Sutton of Geekosity.
Wolverine is on the drawing board to be brought into the MCU fold.
Then in 2021 they claimed according to insiders, Marvel is launching a movie in time for the character’s golden year, 2024.
The article further shared that a Wolverine reboot would fit just right in with the lineup of movie titles leading to that year.
Are we ready for a new Wolverine?
Fans already have their favorites on who could finally don the yellow spandex. (If he will ever wear them in the movies!)
Tom Egerton’s name came up on that list just last month.
As a British Academy Film Award nominated and Golden Globe Award winning actor at 32 years of age, you will not doubt Egerton’s acting prowess.
Egerton’s widely known for his portrayal of Eggsy in Kingsman in 2014 and 2017.
His portrayal of Elton John in the movie Rocketman in 2019 won him the Golden Globe.

Some years back Egerton has expressed he may not be the type but today, physique and more edgy facial features give him a notch higher of a chance.
Training for the physically strenuous scenes that Wolverine can dictate would be right up his alley.
Quite notably, he also stated he found Logan interesting.
Nor did he hide the fact that he wants to be in the MCU.
Even Matthew Vaughn, director and screenplay co-writer of 2011’s X-Men First Class, says:
I think Taron [Egerton] could do it in his sleep. Aaron Taylor-Johnson could do it as well. I mean, I think Aaron or Taron would be my first two choices [who] could do it really well.
If the current buzz is any indication, Taron Egerton is pretty close to landing the role. Taron Egerton could be the next Wolverine.
The Wolverine that finally comes home to the MCU. *snikt* snikt*
