Henry Cavill talks about his vision of Superman inspiring people during an interview for Netflix’s Enola Holmes 2. Seems that for whatever engagement the actor may be in, his recent return as the Man of Steel will always be a topic in the conversation. Even though he is there as the world-renowned Sherlock Holmes, questions about Superman and Clark Kent pop up. And, of course, the actor, portraying the brother to Millie Bobbie Brown’s titular role, answers these queries most courteously.
Undeniably, Cavill accepts projects that he believes in completely. In his personal social media accounts, he would post updates showing his interests. Even, activities that support character development for a given project. As any professional worth the coin tossed his way, he would study the character and delve into what makes the character matter. Matter to the story as well as to the audience. Then he delivers his vision of the role.

In the video that Screenrant posted, Cavill sees Superman as a character that ignites people to love and to give to everyone else. So inspirational and widely encompassing as the origin of the superhero itself. Movieweb particularly notes that the actor sets his sights to give the audience the feeling that “they can fly”. True enough, the actor wants to take part in a more inspirational Superman for his future endeavors.
The recent cameo in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam is the start. While that part of the new DC Studio has plans for several ’bouts’ with the Son of Krypton, other possibilities are on the table as well. In fact, it seems to appear that for any DCU movie, Superman will be in it one way or another. Finally, DC is putting Superman on the spotlight. The very character who should have been carrying its flag throughout the years in the first place.
In the clip, Cavill says:
There is SO MUCH in the way of conversations to be had. Obviously, I have a very close connection to the character and there is something extraordinarily special about him. Extraordinary special about his capacity to give, and to love. I don’t mean romantically but I mean his love for earth and the people who live there.
Cavill wants the inspirational side of Superman as the main focus of his future appearances. He emphasizes:
To make people feel powerful, to make people feel like superman themselves. I have plenty of desires for this. Of course which will be discussed more in time.

In its entirety, Cavill envisions a Superman that brings out the best in the people who will watch him in the future.
The most important thing, which I will be aiming for is for the audience to leave the cinema and to feel that they could fly, that they could protect…and to feel that they want to give to everyone else. That would be my goal.
Throughout the years, in fact, for more than 8 decades, Superman has inspired generations. In his way, he has reflected the hope that people have in every generation he existed. From Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster creating the character and getting him published in Action Comics #1 in June 1938, Superman endured significant phases of history. His image of strength and hope with the promise of a better world is evident in one form or another in his stories.
Hopefully, the new appearances of Superman and Clark Kent with Henry Cavill can reflect the hope and promise the people of the times need as well.
