Dead Boy Detectives moves forward with its production for HBO Max and casts David Iacono as David The Demon in the series. He joins George Rexstrew, Jayden Revri and Kassius Nelson in the series that may have just spun off from Doom Patrol. The new HBO Max series will have story and character based on Neil Gaiman, Matt Wagner and Malcolm Jones III creation. of the same name. They first appeared in The Sandman #25 in April 1991.
Deadline reports the new addition of Iacono to the series including some details as to the episodes and story.

Dead Boy Detectives will feature 8 episodes in the series. Interestingly, it features supernatural cases as Rexstrew’s Edwin Payne and Revri’s Charles Rowland investigate. Supernatural because well, Payne and Rowland are ghosts themselves. Nelson will portray Crystal Palace in the series who will be the two boys’ living friend.
Executive producers are Steve Yockey, Beth Schwartz, Greg Berlanti, Lee Toland Krieger, Leigh London Redman. Also present as executive producers are Jeremy Carver, David Madden and Sarah Schechter. Kristy Lowrey and Chris Pavoni join as producers. Meanwhile, Lee Toland Krieger directs the pilot episode of the series. Above all, Yockey is the series showrunner with Schwartz as co-showrunner.
Companies credited for its production are Berlanti Productions, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television.
Iacono started his career in acting as Jake in Marcus Graves’ 2011 crime, horror drama Choose. From there he appeared in various television series. Iacono became a regular character in series such as Bo Orlov in Grand Army, and Eli Briscoe in The Flight Attendant. More recently, he is Cam in The Summer I Turned Pretty. As it happens, this will not be the first time Iacono will work in a production with Yockey as the latter is also The Flight Attendant’s showrunner.

Before Iacono comes to the screen as the Dead Boy Detectives’ Demon, he will appear in Hot Pink, Cinnamon and Helvellyn Edge.
The role David The Demon is a powerful character who will threaten and torment Crystal Palace and the Dead Boys. Moreover, included in the series cast are Briana Cuoco as Jenny the Butcher, Ruth Connell as the Night Nurse, Yuyu Kitamura as Niko, and Jenn Lyon as Esther. Recurring roles belong to Michael Beach, Joshua Colley and Lindsey Gort.
Presently, HBO Max has yet to reveal the series release date.
