J.J. Abrams‘ Bad Robot is looking at September as the start of new sci-fi mystery series “Demimonde” for HBO.
Murphy’s Multiverse reports J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot is in early production phase for the sci-fi drama Demimonde. The series adds to the currently busy plate of the production company. Abrams’ projects currently in the works as producer are Mission: Impossible 8, and The Blue Angels. He is also overseeing pre-production for Zatanna, untitled Superman and Star Trek sequel projects as well as My Glory Was I Had Such Friends, Duster, Justice League Dark and Constantine.

Kira Snyder, Rand Ravich, and Far Shariat will run the show starring Danielle Deadwyler. Deadwyler will play Olive Reed. Description of Demimonde tells that a strange accident separated Reed from her husband and daughter. On her own, she has to uncover a conspiracy and hopefully find her family to be together again. The series is still filling its cast list as per writing this post.
Ben Stephenson is to produce the series with Abrams for Bad Robot. Rachel Rusch Rich serves as co-executive producer. The production is looking at September for its start of shoot and will run until May of next year. In line with the report, the production already has a completed script for the sci-fi drama series. The project will have multiple location shoots namely Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States and in Europe.
J.J. Abrams and Kristina Thomas wrote an episode of the series. Thomas’ work on House of Balls in 2020 got her the nomination for the Best Film in AltFF Alternative Film Festival. Other recent script coordinating works include The Haunting of Bly Manor, Lovecraft Country and Family Reunion.

Based on the description, stating that “the world battles against a monstrous, oppressive force”, Demimonde will likely have suspenseful controversial twists to its story. Somehow, Olive Reed’s family is thrust in a convoluted conspiracy at the middle of everything. The extensive filming location already indicate sort of a chase for truth just to be reunited with her family.
Something new and hopefully interesting.
