Season 2 for the Halo series is currently in the works and filming has begun in Iceland with Joseph Morgan and Cristina Rodlo. The popular Xbox video game of the same name has its series adaptation released in Paramount Plus in March this year. The 9-Episode series showcased a world in the year 2552.
Many fans of the Xbox video game commented on the story being too separate from the source material. However, the television series tackles an existing conflict between humans and the Covenant. The Covenant being an alien threat in the 26th century. Based on the series description, Halo features personal stories covering action and adventure is a future of the world as we know of it.

Kiki Wolfkill is the series executive producer who shared that the series is a standalone story. Thus, it is quite separate from the stories depicted in the Xbox games. As early as February, about a month before the release of the first season in streaming, Paramount Plus gave the green light for Halo Season 2.
Now as an update, Deadline posts that Joseph Morgan and Cristina Rodlo joins the cast for the continuation of the story. Morgan will be James Ackerson, an intelligence operative from UNSC’s Office of Naval Intelligence. While, Rodlo will be Talia Perez, a new recruit who is a linguistics specialist for a UNSC Marine Corp communications unit.
The two join actors Fiona O’Shaughnessy and Tylan Bailey, actors who portrayed Laera and Kessler, respectively. Of course, Pablo Schreiber leads the cast as Master Chief, Spartan-117 and Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey. Additional actors to reprise their roles are Jen Taylor as Cortana, Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy and Danny Sapani.
Schreiber and McElhone are also producers for Halo season 2.

David Wiener is the showrunner and executive producer for the series. Meanwhile, Kyle Killen and Steven Kane developed the first season of the television series. Showtime Networks, 343 Industries, Amblin Television, One Big Picture and Chapter Eleven are on the list with the company credits. Wiener remains executive producer for Halo Season 2 together with Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey for Amblin Television. Kiki Wolfkill, Frank O’Connor and Bonnie Ross for 343 Industries. And, Otto Bathurst and Toby Leslie for One Big Picture.
Aside from Iceland, filming will take place in Budapest, Hungary, this year. Through the second season, fans hope that the series can bring some faithfulness to the source material into play. Despite the fact that the first season gained much praise for action scenes and acting, it still disappointed some viewers. There is the impression that it did not capture the hearts of the fans of the game it adapted from. Nevertheless, adding Joseph Morgan and Cristina Rodlo to the cast may just mean a step into this path through their new characters.
