One of the most heartfelt Christmas movies. That is what a lot of people describe the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special of James Gunn. It featured a lot of the characters we know and love plus as GOTG goes, good music. The special begins with an animation of a memory. It became the catalyst for Mantis to pursue bringing Christmas back for Peter. With the help of Drax, they get to earth and abduct Kevin Bacon.
Towards the end of the movie, characters end up giving gifts to each other. Nebula actually gave Rocket Bucky’s arm. Let’s write that again. Nebula actually gave Rocket Bucky’s arm. Marvel fans already know about Rocket’s obsession on everything classified as ammunition. He has seen Bucky’s arm and vowed someday he’ll get it. Nebula got it for him. For Christmas.

I’m so sorry, but it already happened. Nebula thinks of Bucky as wet crepe paper. That said, she couldn’t help tearing off the arm because she was just feeling so freaking Christmasy! 🎄🦾 PS No one forced me to include alien cyborgs. https://t.co/SgLKAe7BpJ

The first tweet launched a debate among fans if Nebula could have been really able to do it. After someone commented his disbelief, Gunn again replied further solidifying his claim. Stating it has already happened. Nebula won and she got Bucky’s arm for Rocket. Period. Now, how do they address this in the upcoming Thunderbolts? That would be very interesting.
Some fans offered alternative scenarios where Nebula got the arm because Bucky actually got an upgrade. Or Nebula getting the inside info from Okoye on how to dislodge Bucky’s arm.
At the end of the day, Nebula beats Bucky. As part of what James Gunn has posted:
…now it’s canon sorry.
Meanwhile, we sure did hope there was a post credit scene showing Bucky though.
