Deadline writes that T’Pring is, in fact, Spock’s betrothed. Spock and T’Pring have been bonded ever since their younger days. Although, the duties that they have in effect has become a challenge to fulfill that promise. T’Pring also has a career of helping in the rehabilitation of criminals in Vulcan. She helps them back towards the teachings of the Vulcan logic. Spock endeavors to come into terms with his human side.

T’Pring appeared in the 1967 episode of Star Trek The Original Series entitled Amok Time. The episode showed Spock in a state the needs to fulfill his union with T’Pring in his home planet or face a natural death. In the story, T’Pring prefers another Vulcan than Spock that led to a duel. T’Pring called Captain Kirk as her Champion in a duel to the death with Spock. Spock won the fight but relinquished his claim to be T’Pring’s mate. Captain Kirk only seemed to have died due to a neuroplaralyzer drug that McCoy was able to administer to him.

Somehow the threat of natural death resulting from the inability to mate was also resolved for Spock after the duel. Further, after the decision to no longer accept T’Pring as his mate. Spock returned to the Enterprise and learned Captain Kirk is alive. The enterprise then leaves the planet Vulcan.
