Hulu has green lit Futurama revival and original cast members will reprise their roles for 20 new episodes in the streaming service.
According to Variety, the revival hails from original creators David X. Cohen and Matt Groening.
Futurama is the animated science fiction that aired on Fox from 1999 to 2003.
Comedy Central picked it up at 2008 to 2013.
The series central character is Philip J. Fry who accidentally freezes himself at 1999 then gets thawed 1000 years later.
Because he is pizza delivery boy in 1999, he got to work at an interplanetary delivery company alongside Leela, a sewer mutant and Bender, a thieving robot.
Futurama generates an Average Audience Score of 94% on the rating site Rotten Tomatoes.
Throughout its run from Fox to Adult Swim and to Comedy Central, audience have grown into its very own fan base.
Receiving various awards from 2000 to 2014 and nominations from 1999 to 2014, it proves its power in presenting stories and sitcom delivery.

I’m thrilled to have another chance to think about the future… or really anything other than the present
It’s a true honor to announce the triumphant return of ‘Futurama’ one more time before we get canceled abruptly again
GOOD NEWS, EVERYBODY!
Now we ask: What can we expect in a Futurama Revival?
Fans of the show will definitely say dark humor, slapstick or satirical representation of day to day events.
That is a lot go for.
The world is literally inside-out due to this pandemic.
That alone is a treasure chest full of dark humor.
It is something they may tackle in the upcoming 20-episode series for Hulu.
Expect the unexpected is also on the table.
Yet on top, through or under all of that, I still think of that dog Seymour and I am still sad.
Admittedly, I have not followed all episodes of all the series or even the four movies.
But for those dialogues, scenes and episodes that I did see, the humor indeed ages well.
Further, this new season promises to reach a broader span of audience reach.
I wonder if they will also change the end credit logo in line with Futurama’s supposedly 30th century production.
We only have to wait a year.
Futurama is eyed for release in the year 2023.
