Flash Season 9 Still Has Candice Patton In Cast

Season 8 finale episode airs today for The Flash on the CW and latest news confirm that Candice Patton will still be on board for Season 9. Past articles indicate that Season 9 is to be the final season for The Flash.

It’s very remarkable that the show with Grant Gustin as the titular role has endured all these years. It even out-aired other DC TV shows Arrow, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow. While the latest episodes show that Patton’s character Iris West-Allen has died, this newly signed contract says nope, she won’t be staying dead for long.

The Flash initially spun off from Arrow introducing the scarlet speedster and the ones he loves to the fandom. For numerous times it crossed over bringing Gustin’s Flash, Stephen Amell’s Arrow and Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl and at times, with Legends of Tomorrow ensemble.

Patton has portrayed Iris, Barry’s love interest throughout the ongoing run. The series told their of love story from friends to husband and wife. Going through many challenges and adventures together. And they have one more season to tell their tale.

The Flash has always valued relationships among family, friends, mentors and colleagues across every season. Every “Barry, what did you do?” has the foundation of saving someone he loves or bringing order back to the people he cares about.

For the upcoming ending season preparation Candice Patton comes back to close it with Gustin and crew. Given her current track on projects, we can assume there is so much more possibilities for her to explore after her act as Iris West-Allen. With just her voice, she gave life to Gerry in the award-winning 2021 short film She Dreams At Sunrise. IMDb rated the short film 7.5/10 featuring one critic review that said the movie is for:

People who want to cry and see animation not focused on kids or some grand adventure, but one person reminiscing about life as they recognize they are in their final chapter.

Perhaps by the end of The Flash Season 9, they will deliver it with a love letter to their fans. That one relationship the season has all these years as well.
