Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has said in an interview that he’s working on a top secret video game movie. Based on a new report from GiantFreakinRobot, it turns out that the game might be Call of Duty!
Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson has been very busy taking on projects left and right.
Not only has he been acting, he’s also been producing all of his films
Dwayne Johnson is not new to the video game genre of movies.
He has starred in Rampage (2018) which is based on a 1986 video game about giant monsters who fight each other while destroying buildings, helicopters, tanks and more.
He also starred in the Doom (2005) which was based on a first person shooter game in 1993 of the same name.
Doom popularized the genre and it’s even considered as one of the most important games in video game history.
On a lighter note, Johnson also starred in the Jumanji franchise (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level) in which the last two movies transformed Jumanji into a video game instead of the original board game.
In an interview with Men’s Journal he said:
I’ve always been a big Madden fan. I can’t tell you which game in particular we’re doing, but there will be an announcement this year. We’re going to bring one of the biggest, most bad-ss games to the screen—one that I’ve played for years. I’m really excited to bring it to fans around the world. Of course we’re going to do right by our gamer friends—but really we’re just going to make a great movie.
Initially, fans have speculated that the upcoming movie might have some connections with Microsoft.

Mainly because he has been the face of Xbox ever since the brand started back in 2001.
Call of Duty, being a game by Activision, is another confirmation to the upcoming finalization that Microsoft has indeed taken the company in.
Apparently, plans for a Call of Duty cinematic universe was already in the works almost a decade ago.
However, in 2020 these plans have been shelved.
Activision Blizzard has gone through heavily bumpy roads since then.
Now, as Microsoft acquires the company, balls have started rolling again.
Storylines differ after so many Call of Duty games in the roster.
Dwayne Johnson is currently talking about details on the project with the studios.
