Disney officially reveals 9 actors who will be in the upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte.
Updates come even though we’ve heard that Disney has advised Kathleen Kennedy to hold off announcing anything related to any Lucasfilm project. Of course, we can surely rely on Disney to make the announcement themselves. All this time, The Acolyte has been one mysterious project. So far, all we know is that it’s on the tail end of the High Republic Era. Which is an era 100 years before The Phantom Menace. Furthermore, it’s not anywhere near any book, movie, series or comics.

At this time, the series is a mystery thriller in its description. Particularly, it features two Jedi’s who will investigate crimes. But, it turns out it’s something bigger than they expected. Also, other sources say that the series may feature Darth Plagueis, the master of Emperor Palpatine.
Just some days ago, there were reports that Logan actress Dafne Keen came on board the show. However, the news does not include specifics as to her role. Meanwhile, Keen is still part of the HBO series His Dark Materials. Now, Disney confirms not only Keen but several others as well.
Together with Keen, the list of actors for The Acolyte includes Amandla Stenberg (The Eddy), Lee Jung-Jae (Squid Game), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Jodie Turner-Smith (Without Remorse), Rebecca Henderson (Russian Doll), Charlie Barnett (Tales of the City), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix Resurrections).

Series creator Leslye Headland will be the series showrunner and executive producer. Notably, production shares that she is very much a Star Wars fan. In fact, they further share that she knows much of the Expanded Universe that is officially under the label of Legends.
Steadily, The Acolyte begins to get more interesting the more we hear about it. Truly, Lucasfilm is exploring other story threads for the galaxy far, far away. And, true to what Kennedy has expressed before, they are looking into stories beyond the Skywalker Saga.
The series will have eight episodes which naturally will stream on Disney Plus. All present signs indicate that there is a huge possibility this will be ready in 2024.
