Disney Baited Jon Favreau With A Huge Contract After The Mandalorian

Disney baits Jon Favreau with a huge contract after The Mandalorian, hook, line and sinker.

The Mandalorian is undeniably one of the heavyweights of Disney Plus in terms of viewers demand.

Furthermore, Disney benefits on its popularity through merchandize on toys, apparel and other trinkets their company churns out.

Star Wars fans whether they are there ever since Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope or the newer ones who just love “baby Yoda” (he is Grogu by the way), are more than happy with how Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni developed the series.

Comicbook.com reports that Jon Favreau was able to secure an “Insane” contract to continue his work after the first season.

Negotiations took place after the first season and Disney knows Favreau has more up his sleeve.

Favreau certainly did.

As we all know, fast forward to two years and we now have The Book of Boba Fett, a finished Season 2 of The Mandalorian with the 3rd season coming up later in the year and the much awaited Ahsoka Series.

So far this indicates how “Insane” the stipulations on that contract is.

Of course the contract is not made public and neither Disney nor Favreau is actually talking about it.

However, we can deduce a certain requirement to preserve a continuity of the properties that Disney owns.

In order to keep the property healthy and wealthy, Favreau has to satisfy certain conditions.

Perhaps there is a required percentage of increase in subscription during the time the series are streaming.

This indicates that people subscribe to the streaming because of Favreau’s helmed projects.

There’s also the possibility of connecting other projects not necessarily his but make him use character references done in the past.

This allows Disney to preserve the canon stories and strengthen their brand for merchandize related to the series and everything Star Wars.

Perhaps there are also plans for special attractions in their theme parks.

They already have one that features Star Wars and perhaps sections of that will pay homage to The Mandalorian.

As all agreements go, bottom line is what is in it for both parties?

What concessions could Disney have made other than monetary to keep Jon Favreau and his sleeve-full of Star Wars stories in the platform?

Jon Favreau is happily exercising his creative prowess through the Star Wars franchise.

This means he is very well compensated and secured.

In terms of entertainment, the viewers benefit from it.

And here we are wondering how “Insane” could it really be?
