Devery Jacobs’ character is one of the leads. Her role, Julie, is a resilient and strong willed character. These are two descriptions that can be applicable for Alaqua Cox’s Maya aka Echo. No other information is available for the character Jacobs will be playing.
The upcoming Echo series is a spinoff from the Hawkeye series starring Jeremy Lee Renner as the titular role. Hawkeye introduced Kate Bishop in the series played by actress Hailee Steinfeld. The show also gave the first scenes of Vincent D’Onofrio‘s Kingpin also known as Wilson Fisk into the MCU. This was after the re-acquisition of the Marvel characters from Netflix.
Maya Lopez or Echo is a deaf Native American Marvel superhero. Echo quickly learns and adapts to her opponent’s fighting style. Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen will be executive producers and writers for the upcoming series.

Jacobs is a multi-award winning actress for her role as Lia in The Sun at Midnight in 2016. She is part of the Best Ensemble Cast in a New Scripted Series in 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards for Reservation Dogs. A series Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi created. Her talent goes beyond portraying roles as she also has writer credits for upcoming projects namely This Place, Ara Marumaru and Reservation Dogs season 2.
We are also rooting for the official announcement of Daredevil‘s Matthew Murdock portrayed by Charlie Cox to appear in the series. Since Kingpin is already in the world of Echo, it’s but natural to see one of the best avocados in town.
