Daniel Radcliffe’s Weird Al Yankovic Biopic Just Wrapped Production

Production of the biopic “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” starring Daniel Radcliffe has wrapped up with just a total of 18 days of filming.

Murphy’s Multiverse just reported that Yankovic himself is super amped for the biopic, posting a photo of the clapper on his Instagram with a caption:

We just finished SHOOT DAY #18, and ladies and gentlemen, that is officially a WRAP on #WEIRDTheAlYankovicStory. Everybody involved with this movie absolutely killed it, and I can’t wait for the world to see this thing. #OscarBait#OscarsSoWEIRD

It was only this January when Rolling Stones reported that Daniel Radcliffe will play Weird Al Yankovic in the biopic.

Yankovic himself also said

“I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the role future generations will remember him for,”

A statement we can all expect from Weird Al of course.

However, Daniel Radcliffe does take on unexpected projects to his wing.

It goes without saying that Radcliffe grew up before our very eyes. Growing up through the years as The Boy Who Lived in the Harry Potter Series. During his years as Harry Potter, he has also taken on other projects and won awards for them. He also taken roles for the stage and won awards for his work in Equus from Broadway.com Audience Awards back in 2009. After the conclusion of the Harry Potter franchise movies, he continued to take different roles. Radcliffe won Best Actor in Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya as Manny for Swiss Army Man in 2016.

Weird Al Yankovic is truly a legend in music and belongs among celebrity icons through generations. He is a singer, musician, record producer, and actor who is known for comedic songs that bring pop culture to a different yet fun perspective. His musical genius allows him to use different styles and genre and bring his lyrics over different songs. There have been negative reaction to his music parody but the content is till relevant to current societal concepts.

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” is the first original biopic from Roku.

The released description states:

The biopic holds nothing back, exploring every facet of Yankovic’s life, from his meteoric rise to fave with early hits like “Eat It” and “Like a Surgeon” to his torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story takes audiences on a truly unbelievable journey through Yankovic’s life and career, from gifted child prodigy to the greatest musical legend of all time.

Eric Appel (Funny or Die) writes for the biopic with Yankovic himself. Appel is also the director.

Knowing Weird Al’s humor, you can likely expect the unexpected. His ability to somehow make you do a double take on the meaning, can even make you expect he is doing a parody of himself.

Expect “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” to be streaming on Roku very soon.
