Dan Harmon updated that he is working to bring Donald Glover back for the Community movie. He shares:

I think that Donald is coming, based on word of mouth, but it’s just the deal isn’t official or wasn’t official. It would be difficult to really commit to doing this thing without Donald. So I believe he is coming back. I think if there’s names missing from a list, it’s because the names that are on the list, their deals are agreed upon enough that it’s OK to say they are on the list, and anybody that’s not on a list, it’s just not the case yet. So there is nothing official about anybody being out.

Of course, the production needs solid confirmation and commitment from each actor who will come back for the movie. No doubt that the main crew has to be there. Indeed, the only reason they won’t be in official announcements would only mean that they haven’t had any agreement cross the tables. Naturally, they still need the actors to sign some dotted lines.

Hopefully Donald Glover returns to join original stars Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong.

If people would follow and depend on McHale’s tweets, the movie will also have Gillian Anderson in the roster of stars. He even shared the production schedule already.

Community may not have the most popular spot on the list of comedy series. But it has grown its own somewhat cult following over the years. Especially proven by the fact that the final season came through Yahoo! Screen after NBC closed its chapters. The quirky mix of personalities in the study group for the Community College just serves up hilarious stories on their own.

Glover didn’t get to be part of the Community Season 6 for personal reasons that the actor cited. Most understood his choice to take on other projects to expand his experience. In a similar note, actress Yvette Nicole Brown who portrays Shirley could be in a similar situation. Even though she got tagged in McHale’s tweet, official announcements do not include her on the list. Based on Dan Harmon’s statement, fans can just assume she hasn’t completed her negotiations for Community …and a Movie.
