Chris Evans May Join Emily Blunt In Netflix’s Pain Hustlers

Chris Evans may be expanding his filmography with this new movie for Netflix co-starring Emily Blunt entitled Pain Hustlers.

Fresh from Netflix’s acquisition of the rights for $50M from Cannes, Pain Hustlers is now on schedule for production late August this year. According to Deadline, Evans is in the final stages of negotiation to be in the movie.

While Netflix has not made any comment about the possibility of Evans being cast, the movie already has Emily Blunt in the roster. David Yates directs the Wells Tower written movie.

Pain Hustlers tell the story of Liza Drake portrayed by Blunt. The article describes:

Liza Drake, a high-school dropout dreaming of a better life for her and her young daughter. Liz lands a job with a failing pharmaceutical startup in a yellowing strip mall in Central Florida. Her charm, guts and drive catapult the company and her into the high life, where she soon finds herself at the center of a criminal conspiracy with deadly consequences.

Also from the article, the over all tone of the movie is similar to The Wolf of Wall Street, American Hustle and The Big Short. All three having the theme of taking advantage of financial opportunities at the risk of criminal liabilities.

Other than Blunt’s character and the aforementioned daughter, who is yet to be cast, no other character description is available. Most likely characters from Drake’s past as well as those who would most likely pursue her for questionable transactions will be in place.

While Chris Evans’ casting is not yet official, he has been quite busy with other projects. In fact, just for this year he has Lightyear, The Gray Man and Ghosted. And, side from Pain Hustler, he has slated pre-production projects in Project Artemis and Red One.
