Check Out Star Trek Strange New Worlds’ Captain Kirk

There’s a new Captain James T. Kirk in Star Trek’s latest series, Strange New Worlds.

Strange New Worlds is Paramount’s latest Star Trek series which is a spin-off from Star Trek: Discovery. In Discovery, Captain Christopher Pike played by Anson Mount, heads the U.S.S. Enterprise not Captain Kirk as of yet. The new series is still set to be released this coming May, but James Kirk won’t be in the entire first season. Kirk will appear in the second season.

For Season two of Strange New Worlds, Paramount has added Paul Wesley as the new James T. Kirk.

Some of Paul Wesley’s previous projects are The Vampire Diaries (2009-2017), Tell Me A Story (2018-2020), Killer Movie (2008) and Mothers and Daughters (2016). It seems that this is a major role for Paul Wesley mainly because this is the first time he’s going portray a role that is very well-known in the film history.

If the timeline feels confusing, you are not alone. This version of James T. Kirk is not the same as the one in the Chris Pine movies, which are within the Kelvin timeline. So far, it seems that this is still part of the original Star Trek Timeline. So, it means that events of the J.J. Abrams Star Trek (2009) movie didn’t happen. Kirk didn’t lose his father moments before he was born, nor was he born prematurely in the U.S.S. Kelvin. In the Kelvin timeline, James Kirk only became a captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise because of an emergency situation.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds explore their adventures in the original timeline. The show will be a form of passing-of-the-torch form Captain Pike to Kirk. In the beginning and for the most part of the show, Captain Pike still leads the U.S.S. Enterprise.

James Kirk establishes he is fit to be Captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise through the series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

The series will show his actions to earn the trust of the crew and prove he is worthy to be their Captain.

Kirk’s title will be earned in time, but for sure it’s not going to be as fast as Chris Pine’s version.

Strange New Worlds starts sometime after Star Trek: Discovery, a few years before the original Star Trek series which starred William Shatner as Captain James Kirk and Leonard Nimoy as Spock.

What do you think of Paul Wesley as the new James Tiberius Kirk?
